Catching Fire

While reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins I found many exciting, crazy, irritating, and mouth dropping aspects in this book. The best part would have to be during the quarter quell. That is where I personally believe that there is a major plot twist along with many character developments occurring. Katniss is in a arena along with 23 other winners from previous Hunger Games. Her only goal is to keep Peeta alive. She thinks that she has to take out every single contestant but remembers what Haymitch tells her. "Katniss, when you are in the arena, you just remember who the true enemy is." At that moment she realizes that the contestant aren't there to take her out, but to only give the capital a show. Show them what they want to see so that they won't suspect that the contestants want to take down the capital.

With the character development Finnik wasn't on Katniss' good side at first but when seeing that he wore a bracelet like haymitch's, she knew she could trust him. He proves to her that they all have one goal and that is to take down the capital. He will do anything to make sure that Katniss will take down the capital. Even if it means that he will give up his life.

Then there is irritating characters. President snow is defiantly irritating. He shows up to Katniss' house telling her to keep up her act so that no one suspects that there is a rebellion. And if she does something to step out of line, he would go after her loved ones. He knows that she would have to keep the act up. It gets me mad that you can't leave the happy "couple" alone. They are done with the game and everybody loves them so need to worry.

For targeted audience, I believe that the group of people who are targeted are teens and young adults. This doesn't mean any other age group can't read this, but it catches the attention to the younger generation. It has the trill and excitement that we like to read. Also the main character is young herself. And there are moments where we can relate to her. I would be in that target audience.

After reading this book I would give it a 10. I was really interesting on how this world is created and controlled by the government. And no one likes that so they have to fight for freedom. And it's all up to the girl on fire to save them. Also it's just a good series of books to read. You just have to read them yourself.

Moral Dilemma

Oh man. No, there is nothing here. That I see. I hate doing this when I can't find food. I have to come up with something for him to eat. I feel so bad when he doesn't eat. He looks so sad sitting there. Crap he is coming up to me. "Golo, I'm hungry". Man, I knew this was coming eventually. Let me look.

Oh ok I found some eggs. He like eggs right? That's a simple thing to make. It only takes a minuet or two.  He'll eat them with some ketchup. Oh wait he doesn't like Ketchup. He likes to eat them plain anyway. And if I add some food coloring he would want to eat them. What if he isn't in the mood for that?

Yes, I found some pancakes. He loves to eat those. It's a simple one two three process. It's is a nice hot breakfast and really good. He can eat these for days. So if we have pancakes we must have syrup. Dang it. We are out of syrup. And he can only eat the pancakes with syrup because he thinks it is too dry. Well I'll loom again

Cereal! He loves his cereal. And it doesn't even matter if it has milk or not. He can eat the most driest cereal and won't even want to have milk with it. He likes it like that.
Awesome we even got his favorite kind. Cinnamon toast crunch. So I'll give him that. But what if he isn't in the mood for that.

Well, I guess this is one of those times where I have to be an older brother. I'll make him the eggs, pancakes, and cereal. He'll eat one if not all.

Ok great he ate all of it. I guess he really was hungry. I guess finding food wasn't that bad. Maybe I'm just lazy.😅

To be a man

A note before you stat reading. I am not being sexiest, I will explain my opinion and also see it from the another point of view.

I never really knew what a man in my culture. I know my grandfathers idea and concept of how a man should be. But again that's my grandfather's opinion, not everyone else's. But in my eyes I see that a man is someone who is reliable, hardworking, brave. Could take care of his family, if they have one of their own. Proper, classy, yet fun. Oh and one major fact and is the most important to me is a man is always respectful of women.

My step father is a perfect example of how a man should act. He has been with my mother since I was 10 months. That 17 years. He is was working hard, you can trust him to do things even though he takes his time. He is mature. He knows when to be serious and and have. And he has always been there for my mother. If it wasn't for him I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be the man I am today. He is also making sure that his kids are fed, clean, and happy.

When I'm sick and my mother has to work. He makes sure that I have everything I need. He would leave just to go get medicine, or some soup and juice. He puts us first and him last.

My brother not so much of a man. He is older then me and I'm more responsible then him. He has a lot to learn to become a man.

All the qualities I list are what a man should be. If one where to live alone, he wouldn't have to worry about a thing. He would most likely have a good job and nice simple home. Now if he had a family, he still wouldn't have nothing to worry about. He has his wife and kids. He can support the family and raise his kids well. He would be a good role model to his son(s). And as far as  being part of the community, this man has a positive effect on the community.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of men value these qualities. I know I am one of them. But I feel like some of them reach a comfort zone eventually and don't become a man. I don't see a lot of men who value those qualities in my culture. And it's sad to say that. But the ones who do become a man are happy in the end and don't have a lot to worry about.

I'm my opinion when I grow up I want to be the working one in the house. I don't want my wife to work but if she wants to I'm fine with that. But if she doesn't need to then, she doesn't have to.

Loyalty and Friendship

Before I get into loyalty and friendship, I would like to say my loyalty to my family always comes first.

For limits on loyalty I defiantly won't do anything crazy no matter how close you are to me. If you tell me that you need me to hide something that you stole. You better return it because I won't help you with that. But I will have loyalty for if you need something really important, but it's for a good reason, I will have your back.

Personally I think that friendship and loyalty go hand and hand. But there is are different extents to how each person uses it. I know I have different levels of loyalty and friendship with many people. I have my best friends, then there is my group of friends that I'm really close to, then my regular friends, last there are my acquaintances. So the way I mentions my friends is the way I have my loyalty to those people.

With my best friends I am the most loyal to them. And they are the same to me. Now people may argue this with me. No to be too loyal to anyone because they won't be to you. In this case it isn't what the crazy type of loyalty where they would ask me to help them do something bad and vise versa. But as in if I have food I will share with you so you don't starve, or if you need help with something I can help you.

With my group of friends they come second. I will help them out when they need it. But I won't share my food. But in all seriousness I am there for them when I need it. And I will always ask them what they are doing and if they are not doing anything I ask them to hang out.

With my regular friends and acquaintances I will give them the respect that they deserve and just help them when ever they need to.

Egypt

As I'm researching major problems that Egypt faces, I keep seeing a recurring topic of overpopulation. Personally to me I feel that overpopulation would be one of that biggest challenges that Egypt faces. With that problem it would lead to the other problems that they face as far as economical and environmental. Studies show that the population had grown over six times in the past century and tripled since that 1950's.

Then there is the amount of kids that are left with no homes and put on the streets. Kids have to fend and find food for themselves. So most of them will not even eat. But If the kids have a family to live with they have a sense of responsibility where that have to work. The families rely on the income from every single people in the family. So if there is more kids then there is more money for the family.

There may be a lot of people but that doesn't necessarily a bad thing. Studies show that health benefits have improved also. Young people are surviving illnesses and the adults live a longer life.

Even through health benefits improve there still is the problem of the hygiene and space of living problem. There are multiple people of living in the same house or same roof being all cramped. The hygiene isn't the best so people can get sick. And then there is the water supply and it dirty and it's not healthy to drink. So even though health benefits improve drinking dirty water will not help.

Since education is expensive the kids are required to get to job they are neglected of a proper education. This will hurt the child when they grow up. They will lose their individuality and their own way of thought. Along with their free will.

How do you feel about overpopulation?

What are your concerns and feeling towards the children? With the lack of eduction.

This is The City I'm From

The City I'm from is pretty big.
There is the North, South, East, and West.
Then it expands to the north end, south end, east end, and west end.
I probably lived in all the areas at one point in my life.
We usually move every two years or so.

This is the type of city I'm from.
The type of city were people can come and say well, that's kind of...ghetto.
The type of city that is compared to Santa's work shop on T.V.
but not in a good way.
The type of city that has a lot of loud and crazy people. (which not all of us are by the way.)

The city I'm from is where my parents were born.
Where my parents grew up.
Where my parents had met.
Where my mother and father raised my brothers and I.
Where I grew up to be the quiet crazy and random guy I am.

The city I'm from is where I spend most if my summers with my two favorite cousins.
Laughing, playing and joking around.
But always end up sad at the end.
Waiting for another year to hang with them.
Hoping that it would go by fast.

The city I'm from is what my grandfather takes pride in.
Where you could always see him at his window.
Staring at the same brick building.
Listening to music and sitting in his big chair.
Having a care free life.

The city I'm from contains many of my friends.
The ones who make me laugh.
The ones who can spend hours on Skype with me.
The ones who truly care for me.
The ones who enjoy being around me.

The city I'm from is where my mom wants to move away from.
To a place far far away.
And with that happening.
I can truly say.
This is the city I am from.

My Siblings

Siblings, they are a chosen group of people whom God has appointed us with. Some may not get along and some can be the bests of friends, but regardless it's family.

I have many siblings, six for those who might wonder. Four brothers and two sisters. I am the second oldest. My older brother is 18 and his name is Jio. I'm 16 and my name is Jeremy. My first sister is 12 and her name is Carrina. My first youngest brother is 11 and his name is Jonathan. My second sister is 11 and her name is Crystal. My second youngest brother is 8 and his name is Cj. Last but not least is my baby brother. He is 5 and his name is Joey.

I only live with two of my siblings, Jio and Joey. The others live around Connecticut and I see them every once in a blue moon. For the first 6 of us, including me, we share the same father. My older brother and I also have the same mother. For Joey we have the same mother but different fathers. All three of us live with our mother and mine and Jio's step father, Joey's real father.

Since i have lived with Jio all my life, and Joey for all his, we have a special bond. As brothers we love each other, but sometimes we can’t stand one another. Sometimes they both drive me crazy. I do the same to them as well, but if we didn’t bug each other a lot then well, our relationship as brothers would be boring. We have to have some type of fun with messing with each other, right?

I’ll give you an example of how we mess around. Joey would sit down and watch T.V. and I would go up to him and start messing with him. He runs away and i would chase him and bring him back. Then Jio would come and Joey will tell him to start to punching me. We play around like this until my mother would just get tired of us being loud and tell us to stop.

Aside from the crazy things that we do to each other there is one thing that we know, we will always be there for each other. And i am thankful for them, but this doesn’t mean i am not thankful for the others. I try to see them as much as i can. They are fun when we hang out.
