While reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins I found many exciting, crazy, irritating, and mouth dropping aspects in this book. The best part would have to be during the quarter quell. That is where I personally believe that there is a major plot twist along with many character developments occurring. Katniss is in a arena along with 23 other winners from previous Hunger Games. Her only goal is to keep Peeta alive. She thinks that she has to take out every single contestant but remembers what Haymitch tells her. "Katniss, when you are in the arena,you just remember who the true enemy is." At that moment she realizes that the contestant aren't there to take her out, but to only give the capital a show. Show them what they want to see so that they won't suspect that the contestants want to take down the capital.
With the character development Finnik wasn't on Katniss' good side at first but when seeing that he wore a bracelet like haymitch's, she knew she could trust him. He proves to her that they all have one goal and that is to take down the capital. He will do anything to make sure that Katniss will take down the capital. Even if it means that he will give up his life.
Then there is irritating characters. President snow is defiantly irritating. He shows up to Katniss' house telling her to keep up her act so that no one suspects that there is a rebellion. And if she does something to step out of line, he would go after her loved ones. He knows that she would have to keep the act up. It gets me mad that you can't leave the happy "couple" alone. They are done with the game and everybody loves them so need to worry.
For targeted audience, I believe that the group of people who are targeted are teens and young adults. This doesn't mean any other age group can't read this, but it catches the attention to the younger generation. It has the trill and excitement that we like to read. Also the main character is young herself. And there are moments where we can relate to her. I would be in that target audience.
After reading this book I would give it a 10. I was really interesting on how this world is created and controlled by the government. And no one likes that so they have to fight for freedom. And it's all up to the girl on fire to save them. Also it's just a good series of books to read. You just have to read them yourself.
